Liverpool's hopes of Europa League glory received a boost on Friday as they were drawn against Italian side Atalanta in the quarter-finals. The Reds are in excellent form this season and are considered favorites to progress to the last four.
Liverpool boasts an impressive record against Atalanta, winning three out of their last five encounters. The last meeting between the two sides was in the 2019-20 Champions League, which Liverpool won 5-0 away and 2-0 at home.
The Reds have been in scintillating form in the Europa League this season, winning all six of their group stage matches. They then comfortably dispatched Red Star Belgrade and Sporting Lisbon in the knockout rounds.
Atalanta, on the other hand, has also been impressive in their European campaign, finishing top of their group before beating Bayer Leverkusen and Valencia in the knockout stages.
The quarter-final tie is scheduled to be played on April 14 and 21. Liverpool will be confident of victory and will be looking to reach the Europa League semi-finals for the first time since 2016.
