Montreal native Alex Galchenyuk, 30, has signed a significant contract with the Montreal Canadiens. The left-wing forward has agreed to a three-year, $9,675,000 contract, solidifying his future with the team.
The agreement includes a substantial signing bonus of $2,775,000 and guarantees $9,675,000 of the contract's total value. Galchenyuk's annual average salary will amount to $3,225,000 during the term of the contract.
Galchenyuk's journey to the NHL began in Chicago, where he played his final year of minor hockey with the U16 Young Americans. His exceptional talent quickly propelled him to stardom, culminating in his third overall selection by the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Entry Draft.
Following his successful stint with the Canadiens, Galchenyuk spent time with the Arizona Coyotes, where he signed a one-year, $775,000 contract. Now back with his original team, the 30-year-old Galchenyuk will seek to contribute to the Canadiens' success in the upcoming seasons.
