Multiple Tornadoes Touch Down in Chicago Area

Cook County Under Tornado Warning

At least three tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area on Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The agency reported a tornado near Sugar Grove, about 40 miles west of Chicago, at 9 pm. The tornado was confirmed by radar.

The NWS also reported tornadoes in far western suburbs and near O'Hare and Midway airports. Cook County was placed under a tornado warning until 10 pm.
